TEACHING BACKGROUND

Azuka started her teaching career in 1978 during her National Service year when she taught Industrial Chemistry at Plateau State College of Science and Technology, Barkin Ladi, Plateau State, Nigeria.

In 1979, she went fully into the teaching profession. She taught in Ikeja High school-a Lagos State government high school in Lagos, Nigeria; where she rose to the position of Head of Science Department.

HOW THE CHRISTIAN SCHOOL STARTED.

In 1982, she left teaching for a while to serve the Federal Government of Nigeria at the Federal Department of Fisheries, Victoria Island, Lagos.
This only lasted for 6years before the Lord spoke to her in 1990 to establish a Christian school that will give qualitative education to the less-privileged children at minimum or no cost; while sharing the compassionate love of Jesus Christ with these hurting children.

This is the basic mission of Christlight School; established in January, 1991. Azuka resigned her appointment with the Federal Government to start the school with only two pupils. She has been teaching, nurturing and discipling children since then.

WHY CHRISTLIGHT SCHOOL WAS ESTABLISHED.

we recognized that children face hunger, pain, fear and death on a daily basis. we could also see that they are the future of the family, church and the nation. Even though the enemy is after their precious souls, we believed that he should not be given a chance. Our children are our future; they need to be nurtured, trained and mentored so that they can effectively carry on with God’s purposes for humanity after we are gone.

Azuka saw that some of these children in developing countries are exposed to hardship, poverty, illiteracy and at times, some may not have the opportunity to meet with the Lord Jesus in their lifetime. She saw the need to give these less-privileged children, qualitative education and to share the love of Jesus with them through discipleship.
